Winter Haven Hospital: "This is hands down one of the worst hospitals to visit for the Emergency Room. I would never go again, unless you have the type of Emergency that requires an ambulance. The nurses and doctors are fine. But the wait can be 6-8 hours on a weekend before even being admitted - -with no reasoning other than "it is beyond our control." The State should investigate this hospital, rather than going after Disney world. I believe real people suffer additional injury during excessive ER waits. They would be better off turning people away at the door. " - M.

Winter Haven Hospital: "Absolutely the WORST ER experience we've ever had! They won't let me in to support my elderly Mother & Father because they are "too busy"! I am my parents POA & they told us that my father (who had quadruple bypass surgery 3 months ago) would have to swap out with me if I went in (so I am now sitting in their parking lot while she sits in their lobby with 180/60 blood pressure & excruciating pain with no one to speak up for her because they won't let her daughter in!!!!)! Its been FIVE PLUS HOURS & She's not even been seen yet!! It's seriously the worst medical nightmare we've ever experienced. They could care less about their patients!" - Charlene

Winter Haven Hospital: "3 1/2 hour wait at Winter Haven FL, including telling them I was having chest pains...decided to leave and take my chances. We asked them about why I wasn't called and they said they take the more severe patients first...chest pains are pretty darn severe in my opinion. One lady told us she had been there for 6 hours and was clearly in medical need." - Steve

Winter Haven Hospital: "My boyfriend is there right now and has been waiting over 5 hours for treatment/update... There is a maintenance worker doing construction in his room while he is supposed to be being treated. I find this completely appauling!! He is already under enough stress." - T

Winter Haven Hospital: "My daughter went to the ER last night, she is young, she had been having server chest pains, with cold sweats & she said it felt as though someone was squeezing her. She said when she went in, she explained what was going on, they told her to fill out papers, as she was filling out papers she was in so much pain, she was shaking, the receptionist made the comment she must be in extreme pain because of her face. She sat down in the waiting room, there were 2 other people waiting also. She was in so much pain, she started crying so she turned away from them because she didn't want anyone to see her. She was there for over an hour, NO ONE came out to get her, there was two guys in the hallway that started arguing back/forth & one made the comment he was going to kill everyone, so she left as she was walking out the receptionist made the comment, oh don't leave because of them we have that all the time, drunk people coming in. My daughter also said the place was filthy disgusting!! The other two women in there had already been in there, with chest pains too, they were much older than her, they had been there for a few hours. It's a shame that when someone is truly needing emergency care they have to leave to go to another hospital!! We will never go back to the Winter Haven Emergency Room again & I will definitely let everyone know this also!!! " - CB

Winter Haven Hospital: "Today I took my friend to ER winter haven hospital and they are great the ER Doctor is really nice and the staff was really great also they took very good care of my friend He has kidnny stones and he was in pretty bad shape when we got to hospital but now he is so much better THANK YOU ALL charge nurse. Winter Haven Hospital: "It is a very bad ER the staff here tonight are more worried about who is going somewhere after work we have not seen or talk with no one in over 1 hour they could at least tell us if he is staying or going home have not seen No doctor at all this is for tone one of the wrist ER I've ever been in as far as staff goes they do not care about the people in ER at all " - Barbara
