Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen Stories

Apr 20, 2022, 4:25 AM
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen: "Husband had major surgery for polyps in all 6 sinus cavities that morning. Some 10 hours after returning home, he started to hemorrhage blood from his nose which was packed with splints and gauge. Blood re-channeled to his throat. He lost his hearing from the accumulation, was unable to breathe through his nose due to the packing and now mouth and throat was full of blood. Blood pressure was rising and his surgeon, after seeing pics of the amount of blood, recommended going to ER. Nearest ER was Tx Health Allen. Quickly put us in a room but it was 1 hour and 13 minutes before we first saw a hosp employee. Even with Blood pressure sky high by then Tx Health Allen would not start IV to quickly lower BP even with his surgeon on the phone instructing what to do. Demanded they first draw blood and send to lab. Precious time wasted. He had major surgery at one of their facilities a few hours earlier and they had direct access to all his stats. ER DR was a child with what appeared to be no training and no understanding of what to do. Wanted to pinch my husband’s nose to stop bleeding while he died from a stroke instead of lowering his BP as surgeon recommended. Nurses non-existent. After over 5 wasted hours, ER DR called for ambulance to transport him to Frisco because Allen could not stop the nose bleed. Horrific!! Avoid Allen at all cost." - Patsy
