St Peter's Hospital: "Absolutely the worst care I have ever seen in my years as a patient and a daughter of a patient. My mother went into this hospital where she is treated upstairs at the hematology practice for myleofibrosis with standing orders from a St. Peter’s hematologist who was on call this evening when we went as my mother had a severe nose bleed and platelets at 13. Her standing order was for platelets below 15 at the hematology practice. After 3 hours there I called the nurses desk to speak to the charge nurse named “mike”. He would not tell me his last name. He informed me that no calls would be made to the blood bank to order platelets by the physician until he saw my mom and examined her and that it was an 8 hour wait. So my mother wouldn’t be seen until 8am at this point as it was midnight. I asked if the doctor would just read her labs and her chart that he would see the order and could call the blood bank. Mike said the doctor didn’t have time to look at my moms chart and was dealing with “actual emergencies”. When I tried to explain my moms medical history to him further he said “I’m going to have to go now” and hung up the phone. I plan to find out this charge nurses last name and report him to the OPMC as not only was he stating false medical information about my mothers labs to me, because he didn’t know I had access to her chart (lying to me saying her labs were the same as yesterdays - they weren’t). He also lacked any compassion and lied to me about the wait time, which was only 3-4 hours when we checked with triage. " - Monique

St Peter's Hospital: "Been to St. Peters 4 times in the last year. Three have been about 7 hours each and one was 12 hours. Each time was for my wife that is prone to falling. Each time was for a ct or mri scan. Each time she was sent home with no consequences. If you think this is a great record you ought to work for the government. The last time she was sent for a scan after only waiting about 1.5 hours. After another 2.5 hours we got the results. I thought I was free to take her home but they told me she needed a urinalysis. I'm not sure why. After another 3 hours we got the results and we were free to go. Seriously, there needs to be major changes to the er experience. I realize that the nurses are busy I could see that but there needs to be some categorizing of patients so that ones that lets say only need a scan can get in and out quickly, about 2 hrs or so. Maybe there should be satellite ers that have the capability of mri or ct scans for broken bones or trauma, analyzing cuts, applying casts etc. " - William
