Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center: " Very awful experience today at the emergency room at seven Rivers hospital. I went in with problems upper respiratory and chest concerns all around. I have some heart issues and I am also diagnosed with Bronchial asthma and have been since I was five years of age. Two weeks before today I was diagnosed with chronic bronchitis was given a Z pack along with prednisones steroids from my doctor. My last dose of everything was of today but still my breathing seemed strenuous and my chest just all-around ached... The wait time wasn’t bad but when I got in the room first thing I did was ask for a pillow because there weren’t any and be an asthmatic it’s hard for me to lay down without my head and chest propped up. Needless to say I was there a total wait time of about three hours never did get that pillow. Also being someone with upper respiratory problems and severe ones it took over an hour to get a chest x-ray. When I first went back into the room the ER was not that busy. Seem like all the nurses were catering to all the older people or people with fractured bones but someone with upper respiratory problems they’re having any kind of difficulty breathing I was completely in utterly almost ignored. Also not even given an EKG just to make sure that the heavy breathing or shorter breath wasn’t being caused from problems with my heart instead of my lungs. Yes I had just been diagnosed with bronchitis but you also have to see the logic in doing an EKG with anyone with heart issues. That was never done I was told to get a hold of my doctor by Monday if I’m not feeling any better it was a pri yes I had just been diagnosed with bronchitis but you also have to see the logic in doing an EKG with anyone with heart issues. That was never done I was told to get a hold of my doctor by Monday if I’m not feeling any better it was prescribed a prescription of cough medicine but I don’t know why I would take it the x-ray showed that I must cough phlegm up that’s in my upper lungs... I have never seen anything like this for somebody with upper respiratory problems and to be put on a back burner.. I was so surprised that there was a little concern for my welfare and I was the one that had to ask after two hours am I going to get that chest x-ray. I’ve been to seven Rivers hospital multiple times but today was the worst experience I have ever had. I don’t know if it’s the incompetence of the nurses or if it’s the slow technicians or doctors that just does not care .. Then again it could be an insurance thing who knows nowadays." - Sherrie

Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center: "Four days post op I was taken to the ER at Seven Rivers Hospital in Crystal River with a fever, weakness, severe dehydration and nearly constant dry heaves. It was late, and there were several other people waiting---many of which had no business being in the ER and spent their time gossiping on the phone and running around the room as if it were a playground.

Meanwhile, I'm barely maintaining consciousness, I've broken stitches from my previous surgery and I'm in extreme pain. Many times my body would shake so violently my Mother had to hold me down so I didn't hurt myself. (By the way, I collapsed outside the hospital on the way in and was basically ignored).

It was three agonizing hours before I was taken in the back and another 45 before anyone came in to see me. I was given an IV, anti-nausea medication, and sent on my way with a $2700 bill. They didn't even check my surgical wound for internal bleeding (and there was some).

Absolutely deplorable care and total lack of caring and concern for people who are very obviously suffering."
