Sentara Obici Hospital: "Prematurely discharging a patient on Medicare who was improving from pneumonia. Lied saying medicare wont cover anymore charges. Then I found out medicare will pay for over 20 days of stay if the patient is improving. This hospital will kill you. They purposely gave a patient too much fluids so they caused the patient to have issues and said the patient was not improving. And when a patient comes to you for treatment and it is their first experience in their life at a hospital don't tell their family members you can slip something in their Iv that kills them. And say it is a big decision. Malpractice all the way around!!!" - Obici

Sentara Obici Hospital: "They do not negotiate rates with insurers, people who have catastrophic insurance, or people who have no insurance at all. They wanted all of my $2891.00 bill for a 3-4 hour visit within 12 months when I called. That I managed to have extended to a slightly longer pay period, but this is the only positive thing I can say in this review. The phone receptionist was completely baffled by me asking what an insurance company would be paying if they called about a negotiated rate. She had to keep checking with her supervisor what the specific policy was (just ask yourself if you want a several thousand dollar fee being managed by somebody who is not sure what they are supposed to do). I will never go here again in my life. Everybody I have told about this has been stunned when I tell them about this. If it turns out that they are willing to negotiate rates, then they have disinformation being provided by their phone receptionists to their callers." - Joshua
