Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point: "Being a mother, I have had my share with ER visits. I have been to this hospital too many times to name; not only for myself, my kids, but my grandparents as well. It has always been a great experience under the circumstances, until last night. I have never in my life seen such a display of incompetence in staff and facilities. I came in with chest pains and sat in the lobby for the duration of my visit. Others also waited in the lobby for their treatment as well. This included blood draws, administering medications, patient personal information, patient medical history, patient symptoms, and patient diagnosis were all on display for the entire lobby to hear and witness. Several staff members calling out names for patients to come to the back for other tests, and several times addressing and getting the patients mixed up. Waiting room was dirty with trash everywhere on the floor. People sitting with pressure cuffs on arms, IV on other arms (including myself), and IV poles attached. Check in area was unmanned for several hours, leaving people standing when they came in looking for help. Several nurses walked by saying someone will be right with you. This is the ER for God's sake! The one who checked me in didn't know what she was doing and needed help from 2 different people, admitting that she only had 15 mins of review on the computer. It took her over 10 mins before she even asked what I came in for! No exaggeration! I needed another blood draw for test and asked the nurse can she just take it from the IV? She needed to get a different nurse to do that because she didn't know how. My assessment by a nurse practitioner last all of 3 mins of him firing yes and no questions at me. He even apologized for going so fast lol! Never once saw a doctor at all. I was released and told to follow up with a cardiologist. Lmao! On a side note.... the nurses in the triage were fantastic and the ladies who did the x-rays were the only signs of any care and bedside manors I witnessed. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever seen not only for myself but the other patients that were along the ride with me in that lobby. It calls into question the sanitation of that lobby: never saw them wipe down any chairs, even after them drawing blood from my IV and having it drip onto the chair beside me and my purse when they were finished. It calls into questions HIPPA laws: all medical and personal information was asked and answered in a room full of people. And let's not get started on the humiliation and personal feelings of having everyone in ear shot of why you came to the ER in the first place! " - HEM

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point: "The other morning ( 11/3) I went to the ER at Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center because I had a LOT of blood in my urine. After several expensive tests and 3 1/2 hrs later, on my discharge papers it said, and I quote, " You have been diagnosed with hematuria" ( For those who do not know, hematuria is a medical term for blood in the urine). Well DUH!!!!!! I already KNEW I had blood in my urine, I brought in a sample with me!!!!! Then I was instructed to see a urologist as soon as possible. Do they know how long it takes to get an appointment with a specialist? Especially as a new patient and on a Friday afternoon? I guess RMCBP didn't have a urologist on staff? Also while I am in an exam room in discomfort and worried about what is happening and waiting on tests, a hospital worker kept bugging me for my co-pay.................. And they will be charging my insurance $ thousands plus my $100 co-pay for THIS ??? ...................The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because I didn't have to wait long to be seen." - Ken
