Rappahannock General Hospital Stories

Rappahannock General Hospital: "On Sunday, July 26th, my wife was taken by ambulance to Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock, VA due to massive bleeding from her sinuses related to a fall she had taken on Tuesday night, July 21st caused by weakness from massive back surgery on April 22nd, one month in the operating hospital (in Baltimore) and another six weeks in rehab) to Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock, VA. Covered in blood and in her pajamas, she was placed in a wheel chair and placed in the waiting room. There were four patients in the waiting room at 1:45pm. At 4:00pm I mentioned to the nurses that she was feeling nauseous and dizzy with "clammy" skin. They said they couldn't do anything about it. After three hours and only having taken four patients, I complained to the nurses and was told it would be another two hours to be taken into the emergency room and another several hours to be seen. We informed them we were leaving and they stated I had to sign a waiver. My response was that I would sign it if they presented it to me in 30 seconds which they were able to do. We spent close to four hours and received no attention. The waiting room had only five patients of which two left during this four/five hour wait. We have never ever been so rudely treated" - Dr.
