Oaklawn Hospital: "These times haven't changed all day. Thanks alot!" - Dave

Oaklawn Hospital: "My husband and I live in Olivet with our three children. We have always used Oaklawn Hospital for all of our medical needs - PCP, Specialist, Surgery, Lab, Radiology, etc. My husband was born there as were my three children. We have always raved about the exceptional care we have received.

Things changed last night. It was our town festival and my 7-year daughter fell while playing tag with her brother. She kicked a patio block where it and our driveway meet. Due to the severity and amount of blood, I asked one of the paramedics to come look at it. He called over a nurse. They both agreed that we should take her in to have it check out and at the very least have it cleaned out because there was debris under the skin flap. They told us that Eaton Rapids would probably be able to get us in and out quickest. However, being loyal to Oaklawn, we packed up our daughter and took the ER there. This was a terrible decision on our part.

Registration was respectful, the nurses were kind and caring, however Dr. Yetman was the most unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude doctor we have ever encountered. He chose to chastise and belittle my husband the entire 5 minutes he was in her joint room. To make matters worse, he barely looked at her toe and only wiped around it with wet mesh gauze for a few seconds. A band aide was applied and off we were sent. I’m not even sure if he looked at her x-rays, but he spent less than 30 seconds observing her toe. A toe that a paramedic and nurse thought should be looked at by a doctor.

To say that we are disappointed in the care we received would be an understatement. We will never bring our children to Oaklawn again. This story will be shared far and wide, so other families do not have to endure what we went through and to receive inadequate care for our child. Dr. Yetman should be ashamed of his actions and the hospital should be embarrassed that he is an employee there."

Oaklawn Hospital: "I went to the hospital at 1:20 in the morning on July 14th because I was in so much pain I couldn't get comfortable. I knew something was wrong I was having extremely bad pains on my right side below my belly button and was thinking a hospital could figure out what was wrong they had me do a urine sample and blood work put in a iv and I waited to see the Dr. She come in didn't even say her name but she was young and had the worst bed side manners. She said I was getting a ct . after waiting an hour for a result the doctor couldn't even come talk she had the nurse say everything was OK. They discharged me. The whole time I was there they did nothing for pain I was in. Then two days later I get a call from my family Dr. And he said he just got my urien test results back and I have a Blatter infection and they just found out. So I went through a ct not even knowing if I was pregnant. So this is the reason I will never refer anyone to oak lawn. They are rude and don't even help with pain. They thought I was faking when I am having extremely bad pain. And sent me home telling me I'm fine. I'll never go back. The hospital was horrible I would rate them 0 " - Sarah
