Methodist Medical Center Of Oak Ridge: "I have traveled to many states in the union trades, have been to many hospitals along the way and must say that Methodist Emergency is the absolute worst I've ever been treated out of all of them. I was in a car accident that injured my hips and low back. I went there because I could barely stand up. After waiting 4-1/2 hours, listening to the doctors talk about the best restaurants in the area and repeatedly begging for anyone to come in and help, I very painfully shuffled out the door. No questions were asked by any of the 10 to 12 nurses gathered around and talking with 4 or 5 doctors as I walked out bent at the hips in pain. My steps were less than three inches and several times I had to lean against the walls to agonize from the pain. This is just one ER visit, I have about 6 more trips with similar and worse outcomes. If you, or a loved one, needs help, go anywhere else but Methodist. The ER staff is the worst I've ever had the bad luck to be in contact with. " - Walter

Methodist Medical Center Of Oak Ridge: "I went to the ER on May 22nd and was told that the wait time was 12 hours. I went in for intense pain in my right side. I had vomiting and fever. I was told this after waiting 3 hours. Still never seen anyone. Took my name off list and went to. I will die at home before being let to die in a lobby." - Euginna

Methodist Medical Center Of Oak Ridge: "We recently had my father in law in the er for Covid complications. We visited the er twice in one Week. My father in law has dementia and was unaware he had pulled out his iv. He only received partial amount and had unfortunately made quite a bloody mess after pulling it out. The doctor opened the door and looked at the nurse that was cleaning things up and his words were, “ what the f&$@? “ after noticing my husband sitting in the corner and without entering the room or examining my father in law informs them he was being discharged. Less than 24 hours later he was rushed back to hospital but a different facility and we was informed that he possibly would not make it. His o2 sats were around 42 and the doctor said he should have been getting some kind of treatment weeks ago. After 6 weeks in another facility and 2 weeks in rehab my father in law is back home recovering, no thanks to MMC of oak ridge. I did reach out to them and informed them of our treatment or lack of and of course came denials and the run around. Needless to say if any of our family members need a hospital we will not be going there." - Anna

Methodist Medical Center Of Oak Ridge: "12-26/20 I have my dad here we have been waiting in the er for over 6 hours. The VA sent him here on an emergency because of a hernia that may have gang green or close to rupturing. Very bad service. If he was dying he would already. " - Debbie

Methodist Medical Center Of Oak Ridge: "As next of kin and primary caregiver I felt very ostracized at this hospital. Since I have spent a lot of time in other facilities, I would say that it was the worst treatment I have ever received as a family member. I was locked out of my family members room, given lots of conflicting instructions, sent from one place to another, had to walk long distances to even use the restroom and generally treated like I was not wanted around. Since I was the only family present and generally very quiet I did not appreciate this treatment. I felt that the hospital staff appear to be very competent people who are suffering due to overly complicated procedures and policies." - Cain

Methodist Medical Center Of Oak Ridge: "My sister went to Methodist hospital to deliver a new baby, my niece. The treatment of her by the hospital was so poor that we left, during active labor to go to Parkwest. The doctor at Methodist claimed my sister was not in active labor and he must use extraordinary measures to start labor (breaking water, pitocin, etc). He wanted to deliver the baby according to HIS schedule (it was taking longer than he liked) instead of my new niece's schedule and even lied to the parents to attempt to force compliance with his wishes, threatening a c-section if no compliance was forthcoming. We transferred, after signing a document stating that we were leaving "against medical advice" (AMA form) to Parkwest Hospital, a few miles away. When we arrived at Parkwest, the excellent staff there took over and my niece was born vaginally with no difficulties merely a few hours later. The experience at Parkwest was much more personal and caring, compared to the staff at Methodist who were abrupt and uncaring. No wonder there were almost no babies being delivered while we were at Methodist (the beds were empty). At Parkwest there was a lot of baby traffic. We voted with our feet. If you value your family, especially for baby delivery, stay away from Methodist! " - Darrell
