Meritus Medical Center: "I waited for 11 hours after hitting my head and having a seizure. " - McKenna

Meritus Medical Center: "Yesterday, I took my dad into the ER due to him exhibiting many stroke-like symptoms. His blood pressure and our statements were collected as to why we were there that day within 5-minutes. We waited about 30-minutes to get his blood drawn and an additional 1-hour to have a CT scan done. After that, we were told that we’ll know more in about 1-hour and to please wait in the patient area, so we did. After waiting an additional 7-hours, checking in with the main desk to see what the delay was, we were told that it’ll only take 1-hour once the doctor reviews over the information collected. Because I love my dad, I’ll wait forever and push when necessary to make things happen. Despite our patience and combined efforts, my dad's faith was crush and he finally walked out the door enraged telling me, “Now you know why I don’t believe in our health care system. If this is the best I can expect, then I guess I’m gonna die.”. Our story is not unique but I’m pushing forward to try to get situations like this the attention they need because like the loving family that sat behind is, they were STILL waiting after being there for 18+hours. For everyone involved in the medical community, thank you for your service. For those encouraging the mindset of doing more with less, shame on you. May karma bless you and your loved ones as you have blessed us." - Isaac

Meritus Medical Center: "I received excellent care for my outpatient ERCP surgery at this hospital. Four days later I began having complications from my surgery and arrived at the ER at 3:00 PM in SEVERE right side abdominal pain. I was left in the waiting room doubled over in pain for 4 hours and finally made it back to a room in the ER at 7:00 PM. The nursing staff and the doctor allowed me to suffer for an additional hour prior to beginning an IV of pain medication. I went for a CT scan around 8:00 pm and am still sitting in the room waiting for someone to stop in and explain what the heck is going on. I have seen my nurse 3 times in the past 3 hours and the ER doctor once. In the meantime I have laid here and all of my medication had worn off and I am in pain again. Still waiting for an order to relieve me. Have a feeling I may be waiting all night. Anyway this experience has been beyond a nightmare. I wouldn’t take my dog to this ER and for the life of me
will never return here for care. "

Meritus Medical Center: "Many Misdiagnosis here for Many Years. Misdiagnosis causes Medical Errors. Both of which can cause Death or Permeant Damage and is one of the Leading Causes of Death in America. Doctors often will follow previous Misdiagnosis and not listen to the patient. They often deny medication side effects or medical errors. Most often, injuries are not evaluated properly & Misdiagnosised which can lead to Permeant Damage/Disability. If a patient continues to complain of chronic pain that was often misdiagnosed, the patient is often labeled by doctors as Mental, Liar, or Drug Seeker. I believe there needs to be clear guidelines on how to treat, evaluate and care for patients with injuries or chronic medical conditions. The Problem is with Doctors & Management. Most of the Nurses are great. The Financial billing department often makes errors & refuses to fix them. I heard they have even billed people for care as a child 20 years later as they are now adults. Also, I hear many complaints of C-Diff & other infections that are not being diagnosed or put in patient charts. " - S
