Mercy hospital
First wait 7 hours after cervical surgery and been putting in smallest section purposely with excuse of no room available. After that nurses were very bad no one explained anything I asked about medicine no one answered and when I asked if she should discharge from hospital the answer from nurse was no doctors and I’m too busy to contact doctor. I have to remind to crush medication cuz can’t swallow and this is order from speech therapy with paper hang there but no one read it. No one come and check on patient unless she ask for help. No one care very rude. Chef nurse Maria breaks into room 4:30 in morning yelling at patients that she need room and should leave. Patient barely get to sleep from pain wakes up very freaked out and felt very uncomfortable then she get one person to move her bed that he couldn’t get her out from the room and she get stuck I’m between doors and shake her so bad that she felt so much pain, dizzy and can’t breathe but they don’t care. Patient not supposed to be moved roughly or shake otherwise it will caused damages to her nerves or spine. Too much pain that’s even get down to her spine. They nurse refuse to get manger name and cooperate and no doctor showed up to examine or evaluate after this incident. All previous days very bad nurse that they yell or having attitude. None of them remember to crush her pills or even explain what she is taking. They don’t know who is her dr or his assistant and nurse answer was he is too busy to call doctor. Another nurse came with bad attitude take patient temperature and leave yelling at her telling that she has fevers and do anything just let patient felt so worried and don’t know what to do. They need to be human first and do their job. None explained what medicine she has been taking and I asked for powder or liquid stool softener cuz can’t swallow pills but no one care and keep bringing same pill for 2 days without changing the orders. The day before doctor came in morning and said if everything’s cleared out she can go home when I asked nurse they said no one available and he is too busy to call doctors (Joel words) today doctor is here and said that he could just call me. I don’t know why they do this just to get more money for hospital or what. I ask for help in home care services or whatever available they said we will bring case manager come and help you but no one shows up. Very lousy services no wonder we have a lot of patients that never feel better. Worse experience "

Mercy Hospital Of Folsom: "I came in yesterday via ambulance because I was suffering from heat-exhaustion/stroke and having trouble breathing. First, I've only been in this area for a little over a month. My friend couldn't find the hospital because there weren't signs clearly marked on where to turn to get to the emergency room. So unfortunately I was getting worse and stopped responding so he called 911. He stayed in the middle of an intersection until the paramedics arrived. Upon arrival, they worked on me for a few minutes before I finally came around to responding. When I awoke, I was very scared as anyone would be with people I didn't know above me and not knowing where I was. They were very nice and asked me questions that they had to in order to keep me alive. I told them I wasn't on drugs and I didn't drink. I had overexherted myself and become very weak and dehydrated. They took me to Mercy and made sure I was ok before they left. Great people! They saved my life!

That's more than I can say for the doctors at The Mercy ER. The nurses were great. They asked me about all of my prescription medication that I take and what they were for and quickly verified them in the pharmacy database. I did not withhold ANYTHING from them.
The doctor kept asking me if I was doing any recreational drugs or drinking. I repeatedly answered her that I did not! While I was having a routine procedure done, I stopped responding again. When I came to, I again was VERY scared. I kept wondering what the heck was happening to me. So they sadated me to stop me from being upset. They took blood and urine and screened them for drugs and alcohol. The tests came back positive for every prescription I told them about.

While waiting to find out what they could do to help me, The doctor came in (actually she was a pa) she told me I had overdosed on drugs! I'm 46 years old, have grown children, don't hang out with people who party and I never take more of my medication than I'm supposed to! So I started to cry. She told me she was sending me home with 5 Ativans. I don't want more sedatives! I want to know what happened! She told me it wasn't an emergency and to go home.

Those people humiliated me. I felt like a dot on their floor. Just because I have to take prescription meds, it doesn't make me a druggie & I certainly don't deserve to be treated like one.

I hope this hospital does something about this because I fear for others like me who lost their self-pride in the most dire time of need.

Thanks,
Sabrina L."
