Lubbock Heart Hospital Lp: "This hospital administration, admissions, nursing and security need some really serious issues addressed and fixed. I checked in and I was told that my essential visitor could stay with me after my procedure and did up until 9 pm when the nurses started acting weird and and saying things like you know visiting hours are over at 9pm and I responded with ok great. I did not have and visitors due to COVID-19. And I had signed a form about family and having one stay with me due to the fact I am disabled and I have a essential visitor/caregiver that falls under the ADA guidelines and the cdc guidelines. That by law I am allowed to have my essential caregiver/ family member stay with me at all times during treatment and surgery. It the law. I guess the nurses called security and he came to my room and told my essential caregiver to leave because visiting hours were over. At this point I became very upset and tried to explain that I had signed a form during admissions about family and one guest the charge nurse was called and she was so fixated on Covid-19 procedure that she just couldn’t listen to reason about my caregiver who has been there all day and it would be worse for her to leave and come back during the Covid-19 process so security came into my rented and paid for room without my permission or knocking and requesting to enter in violation on my patient rights I had signed. Demanding that my ADA disability essential caregiver/family member leave. I instructed the security contractor to leave my room he stopped and grinned several times before leaving my room . I requested that the front office be called it shows they are in the building until 10pm on the website my nurses assigned to me also got involved in this situation also and I requested that she leave my room also. They had upset me after surgery to the point of chest pain and tightness and causing my blood pressure to be very high. I told them they were upsetting me and that I was having chest pain’s but nothing was done. I understand about Covid-19 procedure but my ADA essential caregiver/visitor does not fall into the hospital policy and it is on the CDC website and lhh says they follow guidelines from the CDC but this was ignored on this occasion. I would like for someone to look into this matter and please get in contact with me as soon as possible so that others with disability’s are not taking advantage of in the same way thanks for your urgent consideration. My admissions date was 02/05/2021 total knee replacement surgery, " - Stephen
