Hillcrest Hospital Stories

Hillcrest Hospital: "Took my mom to the Hillcrest ER b/c overnight she became unable to walk following a heart procedure the day before. Got seen fairly quickly for an EKG but then were sent back to the waiting room, got called in for a chest X-ray 2 hours later...then we waited and waited and waited. Some people had been there since noon and it was already after 11PM. One woman had severe side pain and was sitting there crying. I've been to other ERs and they were not like this, we were seen and released within a few hours. We waited around for about 6 hours and it had gotten really late and we were still 15th in line and they said it would be another 3 hours at least. My mom started to feel better (it was a drug reaction) so we left. Just read that since we left insurance won't pay for the visit. Well, we're not paying for it! Unbelievably awful. I will NEVER go to that ER unless my eyeball is hanging from it's socket or I'm bleeding out. If you're just feeling crummy, go to Urgent Care or wait and see your doctor, you'll wait just as long but in the comfort of your own home instead of the frigid, ugly and utterly depressing and hellish Hillcrest ER waiting room. Hillcrest Hospital: "Quite possibly the poorest ran ER in all of the Cleveland clinic. Complete incompetence by the scheduling department to not have more drs and nurses staffed on a Friday night. There is no reason what so ever for people to have to wait over 6 hours to be treated or seen by a Dr. This is the norm here no matter what time you come in. The rating saying on average it a 2 1/2 hour wait is a load of crap and I'm sure is entered by staff so they can sit in the back and talk about their wild weekend they had the weekend before, while not tending to the patients. This has happened numerous times to me and family. There needs to be an investigation into whomever is in charge and the lack of concern and effort by the staff for your patients" - Bill

Hillcrest Hospital: "In you dream 2 hours and 45 minutes. Was sent Hillcrest by urgent care surgeon who insisted go there. Have been waiting for 8+ hours. There is no end insight. Often have crippling pain attacks. All they seem to care about is vitals. Come on 8 hours. My gues is this will become 12 hours." - Kurt
