    Fairview Southdale Hospital Stories

Fairview Southdale Hospital: "My sister in law was brought in by ambulance, we arrived 2 hours after she arrived. She was still waiting for her initial evaluation when we arrived. Over an hour later she was taken to "triage", she had blood draws, blood pressure and an EKG.

We have now been waiting over 5 hours. No one has checked back, let us know test results or next steps. When we ask we are told that she is not dire enough to be seen yet and to wait. Again we have been sitting here over 5 hours, no indication of severity of her condition nor estimated wait time to see physician who could ultimately tell her to go home.

How is this patient centered health care? How is it possible that an emergency room can safely treat patients with these extreme wait times and lack of communication?

This standard of care, lack of care is appalling and totally unacceptable.

Going on 6+ hours now and counting, she is still in distress and has yet to be seen - how is this allowed?

Fairview Southdale Hospital: "I have questions: how has covid impacted the ER at F Southdale? How has it impacted weekend staffing and wait times? I had to come in with a kidney stone last Sunday 5/22/22. Never had one before and was in a lot of pain, vomiting. After being supplied with a urine-sample kit, my wait time was 90 minutes before I was taken into a treatment room and receive pain relief. I was really surprised, but got to thinking that the brutal treatment toward medical professionals during covid is likely the cause. The decimating of staff through covid deaths. The insane attitudes toward nurses & doctors since covid began. Is there any hard evidence backing up my theory? Thanks!" - Susan
