Ellis Hospital: "Awful experience. Had to sit in a crowded waiting room for 3 1/2 hours. Technicians took patients in the back for X-rays, ekg, blood draw, and back to the waiting room in between. After having nobody talk to me for over an hour I got a nurse to remove the IV line (that nothing had been connected to) and signed myself out. Another woman did the same. One poor woman was curled up on the floor against a wall because there were no beds or gurneys and she was in too much pain to sit in a chair. I was sent there from an urgent care to evaluate possible Covid complications." - Mary

Ellis Hospital: "10/4/2022 Serious pain in my side. Iv put in my arm and sent right back to the waiting area for 6hrs and counting. No pain meds. The elderly patients is crying for help crapping there pants completely ignored by everyone. I have yet to see a doctor. Don’t come here if you have a emergency. This place is a real horror show. Ellis Hospital: "The worst er ever. All the nurses do is swear, talk, look at each others phones. They did more fooling around. Meanwhile my mom with drive heaves waiting for someone to help her. The male nurse didn't know what he was doing. Had to get another nurse to draw blood. I keep telling everyone the iv drip isn't working. I got ok and nothing. It took someone else to get it working. I'm really scared for my mother, if I should leave and go somewhere else. " - Colleen

Ellis Hospital: "My daughter and I waited in the ER for almost 9 hours without being seen by a doctor. We asked numerous times how much longer and never got an answer. I understand the hospital is under staffed and overwhelmed by all the patients but there has to be a better way to serve the patients. If we were told the length of time we had to wait we would leave and come back when it was our turn to be seen. The city did a disservice to the residents of Schenectady by closing St Clare’s. Ellis hospital cannot handle the health care

Ellis Hospital: "I'm currently in Ellis er I have been here for over 8 hours I have my medical records with me I'm just supposed to be getting seen to have an emergency prescription! " - Dawn

Ellis Hospital: "Absoluly. Terrible rude doctor and nurses my wait time was over 5 hours if people were discharged in. Timely matter there wouldn’t be a back up or maybe you need more staff
The security in the waiting room is terrible there was a man there saying he was going to shot people with a gun not so good" - Eileen

Ellis Hospital: "My boyfriend had a stroke nearly a year ago. He had a crabiectomy and has been recovering since. Tonight he had a huge seizure and I called 911. We have been in the ER for 4 hours now and yet to see a Dr. I complained and raised a fit so now a CT is being done and we STILL have seen no MD. I’ve worked in hospitals all my adult life and this is unacceptable. Ready to go AMA and take hm to a hospital in Albany. " - Catherine

Ellis Hospital: "I came to the ER in hopes that my stomach pain would get diagnosed. Instead I got a oral cocktail that’s supposed to numb your esophagus and stomach and had a reaction. I was told a nurse would be in to give me Benadryl 2 hours later alive thank god the nurse hasn’t been back. I have been here since 6:30 pm it’s now 11:05 pm. I received an IV port I am severely dehydrated and was never given IV fluids. I’ve asked twice now to be discharged and no one has still come to my room. Not a happy patient. I will never come here again as I was told about what a great hospital it is. First time at this ER and last a waste of a 45 minute drive!!!" - T.
