Danbury Hospital: "I was sent by my primary doctor to er as oxygen level extremely low concern. Ordered scan of ecmo cat scan still waiting since 5:00 pm. Now 8;00 pm. Others have been here since noon. Coughing all around I have an autoimmune disease. This is really traumatic. I know short of staff but I wanted a print out of my doctors orders and any tests such as chest X-ray blood work sent to my doctor and scan to reschedule no such luck if I drop dead I tried they failed " - Angelina

Danbury Hospital: "I fell this morning and hit my head. Since a headache and some instability followed I went to the Danbury Hospital ER. Got there about 11:30. Triage followed by EKG and Ct-scan rather expeditiously. Then was told to go back to the waiting room and await follow-up. Over five hours later I was still waiting. Finally my daughter talked to someone pointing out I was 89 years old and had been there over five hours. OK, "between patients" I was taken in to an empty patient room right behind the triage area and soon a doctor arrested to tell me every thing was OK and I could leave. Incidentally there were about six empty patient rooms along the hallway. Not having a patient room was the first excuse I was given for the delay. The room I eventually was taken to didn't have a bed but I didn't need a bed to be told no problem and I could leave. I would hope that for a patient with a head injury with possible internsl bleeding they would not wait five hours to read the scan. They should have known shortly after reading the scan there was no problem. Any case I was there 6 hours plus, most of it waiting to be told everything was good and I could leave." - Jim

Danbury Hospital: "I haven’t been to the hospital since 1998, I have never felt so disrespected as I did that night. I told them what my problem was and they treated me as a frequent flyer ! Well I am not !! They left my soiled clothes on and never cleaned me or helped me . Freezing because I was wet they came and said that I was discharged and it was time for me to go. No shoes on and wet I was told to get dressed in whatever I had with me( nothing as I was taken in by ambulance) I said I have nothing can you wait for my boyfriend to bring me shoes , the nurse or orderly said that you have socks on so you’re ok. So I went and waited in Er and waited till I had to walk in my socks to get to my car in the wet cold weather . I understand you are overwhelmed and understaffed but I am very disgruntled about this . Please please understand I am not a degenerate , and nobody should be treated like it ever!!! Compassion is the key to good hospitals." - Janine

Danbury Hospital: "We took our daughter there after her pediatrician felt she may have appendicitis and may need to have her appendix removed. We dealt with an extremely nasty nurse who literally scarred her because she couldn't find her vein, a nasty head nurse who was a friend of the nasty nurse, and our total wait time was NINE hours. Not only that, but they claimed to be in network, and we got mysterious bills totaling over $1000.00 for mystery doctors - a total scam in my book. One even billed her as a new patient with a new patient fee while she was in the ER. My insurance thought she actually went to his office. " - Donna
