Cape Coral Hospital Stories

Cape Coral Hospital: "Lee health discriminates against nonverbal patients!!! My son's patient rights and civil rights are being violated currently at Cape Coral hospital since 10/1/2021. Because he is incapacitated and nonverbal, they are ignoring patient rights. They are not communicating with me on medications being administered, procedures being done, inducing into a coma etc.. They are ignoring my rights to speak for him as a legal guardian. The hospital just simply does not recognize a legal guardian or non verbal in patient rights. Their excuse is because he is incapacitated, they do not need too. And because they are not used to families being involved overlooked, sorry...He is currently hospitalized and had put him in an induced coma without explanation to me until after the fact. It was NOT a life or death situation. When I arrived at the hospital the doctor told me when I asked a medical question "not to worry about it they are handling it" . I have over and over asked them to recognize my son's patient rights and my rights as his legal guardian and it is just ignored. I have had meetings with the hospital addressing this and it has continued to happen at at least 7 hospitalizations over the last 10 months. I feel absolutely helpless and feel as if we have absolutely no rights because my son's disability. Update: another visit it will not allow me to post another review so I’m gonna add to this one… tonight I walked into my sons room. His trach was hanging out. I Then the nurse tried to peg it on me saying that I took it out …because she screwed up. They did not have a back up trach and the Respiratory Therapist just put back in the dirty one which could cause an infection. Then the floor supervisor gets on a power trip trying to tell me that I can’t stay and I’m gonna legal guardian. Then she got security. I mean seriously do you think this intimidations factor works out well. It doesn’t it only adds fuel to the fire and when you guys screw up you need to own up to it instead of trying to pin on someone else and try to re-direct the attention of what is actually happening wrong on their part. This is stuff you can’t make up and this hospital will pay one day." - Jocelyn

Cape Coral Hospital: "There is no sense of urgency, triage is so rude. I can not believe how poorly patients are treated in the waiting room. Old people waiting for 3-4 hrs and being ignored. Not to mention there is no privacy if you go to the hospital be prepared for every person in the waiting room to know why you are here. Absolutely disgusted at the rude behavior distributed by the hospital staff er waiting toom. " - Erika

Cape Coral Hospital: "My wife took a bad spill on her bike.. ambulance took her Cape Coral on Delprado .. all went well with ambulance staff and check in nurse at this hospital.. waited forty minutes before a mobile X-ray tech came to room.. that’s when it turned bad .. the tech came in with cart .. and crashed hard into wall mount that swing out from wall.. this has large monitor and key board .. he push so hard it nearly tore it off mount.. his name was Keith.. I said look out it might hit my wife’s fractured hand .. he commented sharply .. I done this many times.. I said obviously.. he left in a huff .. I went out to ask nurse what happen .. he told nurse that we declined the X-ray.. unbelievable lie ! !!.. he left and went to next room to X-ray someone else.. I was taken back by his lie and rude behavior.. the charge nurse brought in a new tech ..Blake very courteous and kind .. than Conner took my wife to scan head and chest... and wrist.. I hope this Hospital HR dept. sees this comment and take action and reprimands Keith for lying to charge nurse and rudeness to patient.. ..I hope no one else has to experience Keith’s bad attitude and rudeness..." - Bob

Cape Coral Hospital: "I have had the worst experience wait time was over 3 hrs while others came in waites an hour. Nurse told us its done by severity. Btw i came in with chest pains and tightness in throat. She did a ekg. And an xray. So to someone cougjing and being seem before someone witn chest pain.. It not acceptable. I basically felt i wasnt sick enough to be seen before a child that was laughing and had no apparent issues or a man just coughing. This is suck a horrible hospital where the nurses act as doctors to what is worse then others " - Aoa
