Bedford Memorial Hospital: "My dad who is a highly recognized person in Bedford, va and was president of the hospital board at one time, was just treated in your hospital again. 3 strikes your out hoes for him and I about the treatment that he received there. The first time a simple gall bladder surgery went from being a simple recovery to a difficult one, which Bedford said they didn't know what else to do and sent him to Lynchburg and then Charlottesville, where he underwent 7 surgeries, that wound up finally being successful. The 2nd time, on this recent stay, his heart medicine was failed to be given to him. The 3rd time, he was telling a nurse about how much pain he went through , on trying a nasogastric tube being inserted to try and resolve the intestinal obstruction. My dad is very trustworthy of others and for medical professionals to go against that and use a cold and rigid tube vs a heated and limber tube in the nose is not very professional at all. After being transferred to Lynchburg , on this hospital stay he was not even given an option, of an endoscopic procedure, but instead a catscan.. how hard is that yo decide! He drank the liquid for the cat scan and said he did not feel bloated at all and is drinking Apple juice this morning. I'm not trying to be critical because my dad thinks a lot of Bedford Memorial hospital. Instead , you may want to keep in mind the 3 things I mentioned, that he went through and hope that doesn't happen to someone else. Thank you very much for reading this and may Bedford Memorial keep looking for better ways to improve themselves. " - Julie
