Baptist Medical Center - Nassau: "Firstly, I don’t live in Fernandina. I was just visiting when my primary Dr insisted that I go get a scan for a medical problem that wasn’t resolving. The waiting room was open and it didn’t appear to be busy. After a fairly long wait, the Dr came in to ask me some questions then proceeded to tell me that ‘just by looking at me’ he thought I looked fine. Felt my stomach (I was in there because of a kidney/bladder infection). Again told me that I ‘looked’ fine. There was no other exam except briefly feeling my tummy and his visual summation. He said he scheduled the ct scan but it could take some time. So I waited for approx 1-1 1/2 hrs. He came back in and again said: “ I’m not sure if you need the scan. It’s taking longer than expected. And just by looking at you, I’d say you look good and I think your fine. If you really want the scan of course you can get it but I really don’t think it’s necessary, it’s your call’. My call? If it were my call, I’d be back at my condo at the beach!

Do Doctor's really go by how you look? Wow. Wish I was a Dr. Just eyeball a person and grade their health on their looks! And get paid the big bucks for that? Nice….

I’m a very very patient person. But my whole life I’ve never had a Dr be so flippant. I told him that I was there not because I wanted to spend my money and my Friday night in the ER but that my Dr urgently requested I go immediately. It felt like I was really inconveniencing him.

The next day I had an important issue come up and called the hospital with a question. I talked to two different people that made me feel like I was a complete imbecile because I wanted to know if the contrast they used for the Scan would cause a certain reaction. Fairly simple question. Oops sorry for bothering you.

From the way you’re received from the admitting nurse who couldn’t wait to leave and never said a word, to the ER Doctor who was practically begging me to leave, to the receptionist and the nurse I spoke to the morning after who both answered the phone liked they were pissed that the phone rang “what do want?”, I hope to god I never have to go here again. The very worst personal care. They didn’t even pretend to care. Instead making you feel like you have come in or called to waste their time. And we all know that the ER is exactly the place we all want to be at 10pm on a Friday night while on your vacation. Not to mention the bill that I’ll pay for ‘taking up their time’"

Baptist Medical Center - Nassau: "I sat in ur emergency room on March 1st from 1 am until almost 6 am the admissions or emergency check in never took any of my information i've never been treated at your facility my tem and blood pressure was checked they said it was fine i do not call 187 over 94 normal i was never given a wrist band and i have a lot of allergies to medications after 2 hour's someone finally ask me what seemed to be my problem i told the nurse or maybe the janitor i have a extremely bad back and the pain meds were not helping and that i am allowed only 4 a day if i take more than prescribed pain management considers you a drug addict she said to have a seat again and they will be with as soon as possible now mind u when i arrived at 9:22 pm their was no one in the er now its almost 12:00 am and theirs now 10 - 15 people in here mean while my pain level is off your stupid 1- 10 pain chart and my blood pressure is getting worse my heart feels like is jumping up and down and the pain in my chest is getting worse my hair is soaking wet from sweat and so are my clothes. And they took people around me after i've set here since 9:22 pm already been here over 3 hours
I am single and i have no family alive so i had to drive myself to Jacksonville were upon my arrival i lost my vision completely due to the pain and migraine. So i would like to Thank Your Sorry so called Professional Staff for their Concern as Myself and Others watched them leave for breaks and to go get themselves a cup of coffee. I will never come to this facility again as i could have died. And im fully Vaccinated and i've had my booster.
This would be a great place to open a HOSPITAL WITH PEOPLE AND OBVIOUSLY PHYSICIANS THAT CARE FOR PATIENTS AND NOT THAT INFLATED PAYCHECK."
