    Banner Ironwood Medical Center: "j
The worst wait time ever! Horrible! I came in for a UTI and the triage nurse had me give a urine sample when I got there. Almost 4 hours later I was taken to a bay in the back and had to give yet another urine sample because my previous one was
"lost"! Well the nurse actually may have found it up at the front, but it had no label on it so they must have not known who it belonged to and left it there!
I was shocked! Their restrooms were worse than a gas station! Disgusting ! So bad especially for a Healthcare setting! It was one of my worst experiences ever!
My nurse was awesome though! Very nice and kind and funny! Loved her."

Banner Ironwood Medical Center: "On 8/15/2022 at around 3:15PM I began having excruciating chest pains and nausea and almost passed out. We live in San Tan Valley not far from Banner Ironwood facility. Upon arrival there was no one staffing the front desk for a few minutes then finally a girl showed up and my wife informed the front desk attendant I have had 2 previous heart attacks. She called back and informed the staff that I was having chest pains. I waited for some time in the waiting room holding my chest doubled over in pain during which time they called a young lady back with a mild cough first. I guess they don’t prioritize case severity it would seem.

I was finally called back and the lady asked me if I had an EKG done yet. I responded no I hadn’t, and she informed me that someone was supposed to come and get me after arrival but it hadn’t happened. I got the EKG and then was taken to treatment room where I waited awhile until they could process me. Blood was taken once then a second time 2 hours later to check enzymes that show a heart attack has taken place. It showed I had one as the enzymes kept climbing. Several hours had passed by this time. The doctor came in and told me they were going to take a 3rd blood test and probably be admitted after it. There was a shift change to Night shift and I was forgotten about and had to push the nurse call button and wait for someone to show. They finally put an IV in me and started a drip and gave me a shot of morphine to help with the severe chest pain. The 3rd blood test never did happen and I never saw the doctor again. after almost 11 hours they informed me I would be taken to Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa. The Ambulance personal we’re shocked at how slow the hospital staff response time had been. I got much better service and treatment at Banner Heart in Mesa and I ended up having 2 stents put in as I had suffered a heart attack.

I have had 2 previous heart attacks over the years from a hereditary heart issues and both hospitals wasted no time in addressing them. I very well could have died from this. I am sympathetic to staffing issues but this was a clear case of not prioritizing and some of the night crew seemed to be more interested in socializing within than helping with duties. They made no effort to keep me informed. I laid there for hours scared and amazed at how little was being done for such a serious issue. My wife was extremely frustrated and terrified as well. I will never use this facility anytime in the near future. "

Banner Ironwood Medical Center: "Went in ER with eye injury (torn cornea). Was called in pretty quickly. P.A. did check eye and confirmed it was a torn cornea. She put a drop of pain meds in my eye which lasts about 20 minutes. Said she felt so bad for me (ha ha). Told me some people find comfort with a cold compress on the eye and it will take 48-72 hours to heal. Said she had to contact the resident eye doc and we should wait. No cool compress was ever offered. We waited and no one came back. She finally came back saying she still hadn't heard from the doctor so continue waiting. We asked for pain reliever or something. She happily said she would get me an Ativan for relief. We waited at least another 45 minutes and no meds came nor did anyone
come to check in. They had their personal conversations and made sure
their water bottles were full as they walked past. I opened the curtain thinking maybe they forgot I was there. When they walked by, they stared straight ahead, no way were they going to look in. A security guard saw my frustration and must have said something to someone. The nurse came in along with the P.A. Both saying OMG I'm so sorry about the meds, blah blah blah. Finally gave me a pill which took forever to do anything. We finally said we had to leave even though she NEVER heard back from doc. It was a joke. I was so disappointed. We will be living 3 minutes from this place and was so hoping it would be a hospital/ER that we could count on. Bummer."

Banner Ironwood Medical Center: "My 82 year old Mother who has Alzheimer's was admitted to Baywood Ironwood through Emergency with a broken hip last month. They sent her out of hospital the day after her surgery, with no rehab and no cushion between her legs, do not know if her surgeon approved her discharge. She immediately developed a infection and is now bedridden and on morphine a month later. The surgeon was great, discussed at length with us the options, but the staff though was very unattentive. My father and I are sorry she ended up at this hospital!" - Pamela
