Aventura Hospital And Medical Center Stories

Aventura Hospital And Medical Center: "I DO NOT recommend this hospital for cardiac procedures. My friend went there with chest pain. They said he needed surgery and was too sick to return to a world class hospital in Toronto. They then kept him for 5 days until they could dig up an old surgeon from Ft Lauderdale; operated for 7 hours and he died the next day. uS News gives this hospital a 17% rating. All his friends believe they just kept him since he had lots of insurance. This hospital isn’t equipped for severe heart surgery and recovery. Go elsewhere. " - Jacob

Aventura Hospital And Medical Center: "well my husband was admitted from the dialysis center to aventura hospital...it was dec 03/2015. my husband pulse went down all the way to 30. well first of all the nurse they have at aventura dialysis center at that time don't give a damn about the pt. so my husband call me at told me that his not feeling well. and the nurse in that center was not paying attention to the pt. it just happen that i am AMA. so i told them either they call the 911 for my my husband or i will call and send the paramedics to the center. and after 20 minutes i received a call that they are sending my husband in AVENTURA HOSPITAL. because that is the nearest hospital...which i understand. when we get to the ER...OKEY...he was having tachycardia...so they monitored him and after 5 hours they transfer him to 8 floor west side. and they say they gonna monitor him...well okey...they only have one nurse that is good in that floor...first night over there. it was wednesday...his blood pressure was all the way up to 210/120. i told the pct to call the nurse because his bp is really high and his pulse is way up to 130 which i know he is having a hard time because you can tell that his chest is pumping like crazy and he is having sob...THE NURSE SAY..he need to relax...so i told the nurse...CAN YOU PLEASE CALL THE DR AND PLEASE NOTIFY HER...so she can give a the order to give him medication. but nope nothing show up...and THEY ASK ME if i am a NURSE? i told them well what i do for living is not a concern. the doctor that attending him was gonna put him to heparin drift. the first night that he was admitted the DR say you need 'ABLATION" So i say "okey' but before the ablation he need to see the cadiology "first. and she say im gonna put you in heparin drift" i told the dr "okey but still he need to see the cardiology first please" then DR just walk out of the room...then like in one hour there is a nurse was about to put a heparin drift on him. so i told the nurse "he is not gonna get the heparin drift, not until he see the cardiology...even a cardiology didn't even put him on heparin because he need to see first whats going on with him. and that friday the dr was discharging him...and when i get there...his blood pressure was 230/125 with the pulse of 130 he was having a SOB, CHEST PAIN AND POUNDING HEART BEAT..so i refused to take him home. i told them to call the cardiologist please. and he even say HE cant go home like this...and the dr told me that my husband refused the treatment? i told her he didn't refused the treatment...he NEED a echo and to see whats going first then he will go FOR ABLATION. so the echo was order that night. and it shows that he was atrial flutter. that he needed a ablation to prevent it to happen again. and that night those nurses they have in that floor was talking shit about pt. and they mention my husband that too much drama. so i confronted them. THEN THAT MONDAY HE WENT INTO 3 PROCEDURE (CARDIAC CATH, ABLATION AND DIALYSIS) ATLEAST WE KNOW WHY HE NEED THE ABLATION...after the procedure they transfer him to 7 floor telemetry..which the nurse is better than floor 8. but still barely nurse knows things now...they have the title but the they dont have to knowledge HE was discharge the day before his
birhtday. i told the nurses up there i may not be a rn...i am a RMA,AMA i care for my patient.
and resently 3 of my pt just died in that hospital...i guess you can barely fine a good nurses dr and and nurses now. "

Aventura Hospital And Medical Center: "To Whom it may concern !
My name is Agnes Goldberg.
I have been coming regularly in to Aventura Hospital since 2014 November/02.
I have been in the emergency room and stayed admitted over 30 times. I have the urge to tell you a quick story that happened to me in between July 25th 2015 and August 04th 2015. I came in the Aventura Hospital Emergency room scared and frightened crying not able to walk or control my muscles on July 25/2015. It came out I had a Dilantin toxicity and the brain didn't send signals to the muscles and nerves. And that I probably not going to walk or gain control over my muscles. I coul have lost my cool but I didn't. And this is the reason behind it his emai. First of all this is not my first language and if my writing sounds a little strange it's because I am Hungarian and my English is just off. Way off.
On that day I got a nurse name Kay Charles. Since then I haven't seen her till just an hour ago and I forgot her name. But it think you should know of what a wonderful selection of employees you do have. Not just that she did everything in her power to make sure I got everything I needed so I can focus on the emotions and just make some kind of sense out of it. Everyone was beyond wonderful and kind and understanding and just being there for one human being out of there heart. The staff in radiology Xylyn Dale, and Jonathan and George and Lynn all the nurses and doctors who were there was just kind be and wonderful. But this one nurse Kay Charles was the best nurse and a true friend to a stranger. She stayed with me even her shift was over. She stayed with me till my fiancé got there so I don't have to stay alone. I am a praying woman. I don't bother nobody by asking questions about what they believe. I had no idea she was a praying woman till she heard me praying then joined me with her prayers. I swear to you I was lifted to a better place on that moment. I am truly blessed and grateful that you have an incredible nurse and a wonderful human being in your staff like Kay Charles is.
After I had to go upstairs to the sixth floor to stroke unit I was provided the best doctors and nurses. All my needs medically and hygienicly was met beyond better then my expectations. I want to say thank you. Thank you for always making sure I will feel better and hopeful and happier. Thank you for having wonderful people like Kay on your team. May you always have an angel by your side. Because you definitely provided my human Angels. Thank you.
With sincerity and gratitude.
Agnes Goldberg.
