Albany Medical Center Hospital: "Brought my son in who is 8 years old with a possible concussion. Sat there for six hours and all they did was give him a pill for nausea. Still didn’t get to see a doc because I guess concussions don’t matter as much as the sniffles. Albany med needs to do better. " - Joshua

Albany Medical Center Hospital: "Arrived er just before 5:00p.m. Still sitting in triage room at 1:00a.m. Had x-rays, covid test. Seem to have become a non entity. I was an EMT and understand triage and severity. However, this is unacceptable and unprofessional. All communication has been initiated by my wife. Fortunately, my wife is advocating for me. Albany Medical Center Hospital: "I Was there 2 days 1night,I had to get a new stimulator implant done ,the first one I beleive the wire end was facing up so there is a pointed corner on it and the implant was close to the surface that it poked threw the skin within a couple months it started leaking,I let it go a couple months because wasn't leaking bad and was hoping it still might close but I guess I kind of knew it wouldnt because that corner of it was sharp, but I was also running to Bassett hospital for a badly broken foot so after those appointments slowed down I decided to call AMC,to get this taken care of,the nursing, great job, response time great, the one thing was awful I take 90 mg of morphine 3x a day it was in my record,I also take up to 8 ,2 every four hours of morphine immediate release, due to 7 herniated disc, and a spinal cord injury ,you had my records, all you did was hook me up to 2 ml of morphine, and the nurse showed the doctor what I take to get it from pharmacy, I was in severe pain that doctor would only give a script for 10 mg oxytocin every 6 hrs,by evening I was ready to go home and tell them I come back in morning ,but this surgery they considered emergency they want to send ambulance wed.night I said I be there Thur. Morning, but I guess this whole thing was very urgent when I told them it was draining, so anyway I was hurting to point of being in tears the nurse went back out a new doctor was on when the nurse told in the pain I was in and what the only thing the other doctor would give ,the new doctor looked at my records and said this girl takes 90 mg 3x a day ,hell what he's giving her isn't even going to touch her,so he wrote the script for the extended releif, left the 10 mg oxytocin and the 2ml morphine drip instead of the immediate release morphine that I take but at that point I was in so much pain that I didn't sleep at all other then 15 minutes before they came and got me Friday morning, I also hadn't ate anything other then a stack of gram crackers and the hamburger off a noon plate, but you I hate to be so honest but out of the 5 hospitals I've been in you have the worse food of any hospitals, alot of the meals were cold or slightly warm ,I thought the stuff came out of a off brand can of food,so they ask me what they could bring me I said well fruit they can't hurt that and they knew I hadn't eaten any of that meal so they brought a small cup 1 strawberry 4 grapes,4 pieces musk melon ,it may have been different if they brought me a menu card I don't know I didn't get one and I was there for Thursday lunch, they were already handing food out,so girl ask what she could get so I said hamburger and fries, hamburger was slightly warm I could eat it but I was real hungry but the fries, really cold not even warm, then supper no card ask me what I want and nothing on it tasted good enough to eat so other then the hamburg, couple graham crackers, and 7 or 8 little pieces of fruit I couldn't eat your meals and I got no menu choice, nurses great 100 %,as far as my record of meds I take and being in that much pain because a doctor,a doctor not a nurse practitioner a doctor wouldn't give the pain meds I take for pain so that was the worse letting me get in that much pain that it's hard to get back under control til the meds are taken like prescribed ,so because of that I got no sleep other then less 15 min.and a hamburger and couple pieces fruit and crackers for the duration of time there, and the no sleep probally from pain out of control but the food sorry to be honest but it was the worse, but AMC
as far as being any place for the best care for serious injuries that's the place you want to be .Sincerely Pam Rockwell "
