: "I THINK ALOT OF PEOPLE GO TO THE ER THAT SHOULDN'T EVEN BE THERE- IF YOU ARE REALLY SICK YOU WILL GET ATTENTION VERY SOON AND OVER EVERYONE ELSE - THAT IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE - IF I AM HURTING AND SOMEONE -- ELSE BACK THERE IS GOING TO DIE IF THAT DON'T TAKE OF HIM-- I DON'T MINE --THAT THEY PUT ME ON HOLD- AND TAKE CARE OF THOSE WHO ARE IN WORSE CONDITION - AND SHELBY IS A GREAT HOSPITAL - NURSES AND DOCTORS VERY NICE -- I LOVE THEM ALL -- AND IF THERE HOSPITALITY IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU\r\n-- THEN GO SOME WHERE ELSE !!!!" - Barbara

: "Arrived here in the ER at 2pm. It is now 9:20pm and I'm still in the lobby waiting. The 3 hr wait time that is posted is a lie. After more than 7 hr wait I'm still not sure when I will be seen by a physician. " - MS

: "I usually go to franklin square in white marsh , md. I have a rare disease called hypoparathyroidism where my calcium gets very low and my body goes into tentany and I am in extreme pain. My whole body is tingling. Every time I go to franklin square I wait anywhere from 3-4 hours without seeing a doctor. All I need is an iv of calcium. Every visit tends to be 7-9 hours total including 3-4 wait time. By that time I'm in so much pain crying and they won't do a damn thing for me. Worst hospital ever! " - Elizabeth

: "Those aren't long wait times. They wouldn't be so bad if people wouldn't rush to the ER for everything little thing I.e. The sniffles med refills, cough, something that's being chronic for months. ER's are not a primary care physician and not for your whole families. People need to stop abusing the ER. ER is for traumas, heart attacks, respiratory problems strokes, severe abdominal pain that has last for more than 1 hour , gastrointestinal bleeding etc not a cold, stubbed toe, med refill, chronic pain so that's part of why you wait for things you can see your regular DR. For a clinic or get over the counter. I realize people on government assistance want the ER to write a prescription so they don't have to pay cash for ibuprofen, cough medicine, nose spray, things you can get over the counter that is another reason for wait times !!!" - Tyler

: "I was told by Urologist after a CT Scan to go to Greenville Mem Hospital ER because of a kidney infection. I was admitted pretty quickly and hooked up to an IV. I never saw anyone for an hour and a half. I had 3 alarms going off including an empty IV most of that time. No one ever came. I had to get off the bed and stretch the IV\r\nso I could just get my head beyond the curtain to catch someone's attention. I said I wanted to leave and they said I would have to sign a release which I told them I would be happy to do. Another hour and no release , so I walked out, It's a good thing I didn't have a heart attack ( I've had 3) or I would be dead. Remember 3 alarms were already going off and no one responded. Their excuse- shift change." - S.

: "A family member under the age of 10 was having suicidal thoughts and made many attempts. We waitied over 6 hours to be seen. When then request to be discharged to have her taken to another hospital and they wouldn't.My family amd ai understood the importance of the child being seen but waiting the time we waited and still no time when she would ne seen was hard to understand. The nurse was head nurse was rude and carefree. It hurt to already have a love one feel like giving up on life at such a young age. But the experience wqs comforting either." - Unknown
